LOST Materials

You MUST issue stamped, dated, and initialed receipts for payment of lost materials. For patrons to be reimbursed for the lost item, they must return the item AND the receipt. We DO NOT print the payment history in the absence of a receipt.

If a patron returns a lost item that they have paid for with a receipt, we fill out a blue form with the attached receipt and the patron will receive a check in the mail within 3 weeks.

We DO NOT accept partial payments for lost items. Patrons must either pay in full or bring back the material. It is crucial to use the drop down menu correctly to indicate payments taken for FINES or full payments for LOST items.

We DO NOT accept replacement items for lost or damaged materials.

PC Use

Updated: 9/7/17

Patrons who wish to use the computer lab must have a library card in good standing.
If, for any reason, their card is blocked from using the computer or they do not have a library card, they may purchase a Guest Pass for $2.

Guest Passes are listed as PC Use in the drop down.

The only way for this fee to be avoided is for patrons to either meet the criteria to be eligible for a library card or pay down fines to $2 or less.

Another reason patrons must purchase a Guest Pass is if they have an overdue book on their account that cannot be renewed.

There is not a limit to how many Guest Passes a patron may purchase in a day.
Guest Passes must be used the day that they are purchased; they are not good for future use.

2nd Floor Display Prog

All books that used to be checked out to "Erika Prog" for displays are now checked out under "2nd Floor Display Prog." This is easy to find by typing "Prog 2" into your search. Anything checked out to this account just needs a barcode scan, do not deactivate the security, and no receipt is required. Rebecca is who normally uses this account.

Placing Items Going to Repair Tech Services On Hold

If you need to send an item to Tech that a patron (or staff member) wants, please place a hold on the item after you make it “Sent to Tech”. This places that patron at the top of the requests queue.

If the item is not on file, you may write the person’s name and card number on the slip so we can place the hold after it is returned to the system.

SmartGate Manager/Daily People Counter

We are now starting and closing the SmartGate Manager on a daily basis. There are instructions on how to do this in the top drawer near computer 1.

Shut down the SmartGate Manager in the evening and restart in the morning.

To start double-click the SmartGate Manager icon on the local desktop. The SIP and Do Pedestal Data Gather buttons should be highlighted with green lights glowing. If they aren't just click the respective button once. If the lights still don't come on IT will need to be contacted to check the SIP service. Once SmartGate is running you can log into the Citrix Desktop.

Morning:
To reset the daily people counter click the reset baseline button. Do this every morning. Click OK twice - there isn't a password.
