Reminder:

 

Any Materials Requests/ILL Requests must go to the Selectors before we charge the patron the $5.00 ILL processing fee.

 

The selector must first approve the material and/or see if the material is available for Loan from another Lending Facility before the $5.00 fee is charged.

 

Also, please do not place any comments in the Borrower Info ->Extra Info-> ILL/Requests section on the patron’s account. That section is for the Selectors only.

Blue Report Folder for RFM/ILL Forms

There is now a blue report holder in the file at Circulation that contains all the updated information, flow charts, receipt samples etc. on taking Requests for Materials & ILL requests. The folder also contains the blank RFM/ILL forms to fill out when taking a request.  Please familiarize yourselves with the new forms and procedures if you have not yet done so.

Materials Not Owned Payments

When a patron pays the $5.00 for a request for Materials Not Owned by RPL that payment must be credited to the Patron’s account; not Backfiles or a Branch account. That record of payment linked to that individual indicates that the request can be processed correctly. Use the drop down menu and find the correct description.

Ordering New Books

Please remember that it is OK to send patrons up to the reference desk for ordering items but please don't send them to specific librarian selectors who do the ordering. Before sending patrons upstairs to order a new item, please check to see if the item is already in the catalog. Thanks!

Material Request Procedures

Materials published in the past six months (not counting the current month) or to be published three months in the future (not counting the current month) may be requested for purchase at no charge.
Any items published more than six months ago may be requested for a $5 fee.
