We are now starting and closing the SmartGate Manager on a daily basis. There are instructions on how to do this in the top drawer near computer 1.
Shut down the SmartGate Manager in the evening and restart in the morning.
To start double-click the SmartGate Manager icon on the local desktop. The SIP and Do Pedestal Data Gather buttons should be highlighted with green lights glowing. If they aren't just click the respective button once. If the lights still don't come on IT will need to be contacted to check the SIP service. Once SmartGate is running you can log into the Citrix Desktop.
Morning:
To reset the daily people counter click the reset baseline button. Do this every morning. Click OK twice - there isn't a password.

Item Not on File
This shows what your screen will look like when you check in an item that is not on file. This does not mean that there is a tag error; the item is simply not on file and must be sent to Tech for cataloging.
If an item has a tag error, it will either not read on the pad at all, or the barcode number will be incorrect. It may appear as gibberish, a partial number, an X, or a 0. An item that appears this way should be sent to Tech for the tag to be rescanned.

Volunteer Application Forms
When patrons bring in completed Volunteer Application Forms, these should be placed in an Inter-Office Envelope and sent to Melissa in Administration.
